THE SHIMMY SHAND BAND
The Shimmy Shand Band is a Scottish ceilidh* band, with style and energy. We promise you a fantastic evening of Scottish ceilidh dancing, suitable for those new to ceilidhs and those well-versed in the art of the ceilidh dancing. We play authentic ceilidh music with an electric twist – ideal for weddings, parties and other events.
Sarah, our Scottish caller will walk you through all the dances and beating out the time on her bodhran.** Our accomplished band of professional musicians will play you some top Scottish ceilidh music to get you dancing, or even shimmying. We combine traditional Scottish instruments, such as the fiddle and the bodhran, with electric guitar and keyboards to bring a funkier sound that is brilliant for dancing.
